LAKAMBINING INHINYERA 2025
Mechanics and Guidelines
The Women Engineers Network (WEN) of the Philippine Technological Council (PTC) is proud to announce the 8th Search for Lakambining Inhinyera, a fundraising event and personality development competition celebrating professional Filipino women engineers.
1. Eligibility:
- Each Engineering Professional Organization (EPO) may nominate one (1) or two (2) candidates.
- Candidates must be licensed professional women engineers, at least 21 years old, physically and mentally fit, with a pleasing personality.
2. Voting and Fundraising:
- PTC WEN will distribute envelopes for each candidate/EPO to collect vote contributions (fundraising proceeds).
- Final canvassing and deadline for dropping votes is on August 8, 2025, at exactly 6:00 PM.
3. Special Awards: Candidates must prepare attire for the following categories, each to be evaluated by a Board of Judges:
- Engineering Outfit/Attire
- Sportswear
- Corporate/Business Attire
- Long Gown
4. Prizes Distribution:
- Prize amounts will be determined by the candidate’s total collected fundraising proceeds, shared equally (50:50) between the EPO and their candidate unless otherwise mutually agreed.
- Distribution of fundraising proceeds is as follows:
- Top Grosser: Receives 50% of their collected funds
- 2nd Top Grosser: Receives 40% of their collected funds
- 3rd Top Grosser: Receives 40% of their collected funds
- 4th Top Grosser: Receives 40% of their collected funds
5. Selection Criteria for Lakambining Inhinyera:
- Final results will be determined based on:
- 40% from fundraising proceeds
- 60% from beauty and presentation, judged on:
- Physical Attributes (Appearance and Vital Statistics): 30%
- Audience Impact (Poise and Bearing): 20%
- Performance (Mastery, Confidence, and Execution): 50%
6. Board of Judges:
- Decisions by the Board of Judges will be final and applicable only to the 60% beauty and presentation component.
7. Minor Awards:
- Minor awards will be presented during the event, although these awards will not affect the final scoring for Lakambining Inhinyera.
8. Expenses and Accommodations:
- PTC WEN will NOT shoulder expenses related to the food and accommodations of candidates, chaperones, or personal assistants.
- Expenses directly related to event organization will be deducted from the PTC WEN’s share of funds raised.
9. Participation Acknowledgment:
- PTC WEN deeply appreciates the cooperation, participation, and generous support of all Engineering Professional Organizations.
